Our Heavy Haulage Services

Machinery Transport
At DC Merrett, we provide an exceptional machinery transport service. We prepare, dismantle, load and transport machinery and equipment around the UK and Europe.
Our team has years of experience when it comes to heavy haulage transportation. They can execute logistics that ensure your haulage is transported safely and legally. This includes site surveys, route planning, permits and escort vehicles.
All of our drivers go through regular CPC checks, which allows our team to be competent to undertake the task at hand.
We have an extensive fleet of the latest lorries in the industry. All of which are fitted with modern communication equipment, safety gear and can be used to haul a variety of loads.
Our specialist vehicles include: low loaders up to 150 tonnes, extendable step frames, 8 wheeler rigid lorries and 60 tonnes per meter crane lorries.
All of our lorries are maintained on our onsite workshop which is run by highly qualified engineers who work effectively and efficiently to keep our fleet running at their best.
Export Preparation
Our skilled team at DC Merrett can provide an excellent export preparation service for machinery and equipment. We work with clients both locally and internationally who require a reliable company to do the job.
We can arrange to pick up the machinery/equipment and transport it back to our headquarters, where we can prepare it for export.
We ensure that all of the machinery/equipment is cleaned thoroughly using the appropriate tools. This helps ensure that when the machinery/equipment is exported, it arrives at the intended destination and meets the import laws.
Each country has its specific importation laws and standards that must be met, otherwise the machinery/equipment could be refused entry into the country.
Our dedicated team work hard to remove any organic matter found on the machinery/equipment so that there is no biosecurity threat.
We also make any necessary repairs and replacements that may be required to help get the machinery/equipment up and running before its departure.
Escort & Pilot Vehicles
We, at DC Merrett, understand that completing jobs to the highest of standards is incredibly important. This includes meticulously following rules and regulations to make certain that the job is completed in the appropriate manner.
It is a legal requirement to have an escort/pilot car for abnormal loads in order to ensure the safety of other road users and those involved in the haulage.
Our trained team are familiar with every necessary procedure. This allows them to provide a great service to our customers.
Our specialist fleet has all the required equipment as specified by the Highways Agency’s Self-Escorting of Abnormal Loads and Abnormal Vehicles Code of Practice. This includes the latest high-tech communication apparatus on which they can communicate with the entire team throughout the haul.
Some abnormal load transportation will require police escorts. This is something we would provide as part of the service, as we would make all the necessary arrangements for you.
