Latest JCB Servicing News July 2018:
JCB machinery is designed to take the loads & stresses of heavy use in all sorts of conditions. From the drawing board, JCB machines are built to be robust. The team that design JCB machinery wants to build a machine that can withstand the heavy use customers are going to put on them, as well as to better fulfil the customer’s requirements. It’s this constant state of refinement that builds them up to be industry leaders in industrial machinery. (If you are in the South West of England & you are looking for a reliableservice provider for your JCB machinery then take a look at our page on JCB servicing today!)
It’s good to keep your finger on the pulse if you are working within the industry as new things are announced every month. From new equipment announcements to pipelined designs for the future, we want to keep our customers clued up on what is coming out at the moment and in the future!
JCB Replaces Izusu Engines:
JCB has announced that they will be working to replace their Isuzu engines with more efficient engines from Rolls-Royce. The MUT series 1000 power units are based on a six-cylinder engine which will be fitted to the JS300, JS330 & JS370. Preliminary tests show that these new MUT engines will be saving up to 10% of fuel compared to the older engines.
This isn’t the first time the series 1000 engine has been used in a piece of JCB machinery. Whilst it’s never been used in a series of an excavator, The MUT is already used in the flagship wheel loader, the JCB 457.
The new JS370, the biggest excavator of the three is planned to be unveiled in a Conexpo in Las Vegas, showing those in the industry it’s new innovative design & features. JCB has always strived towards more efficient engines, refining their machines so that their products are always seen as the go-to standard.
Bernd Krüper (VP at MTU) is quoted saying “This is another step forward in our long and successful partnership. Use of our engines in JCB’s new excavators marks our entry into another very important and high-volume segment of the C&I market, and we are very proud that JCB is choosing to endorse our EU Stage IV-compliant units.”
This recent move by JCB is indicative of their nature to build & progress. It shows that the teams of designers & engineers at JCB are always looking to better their machines.
JCB Announces New Generators:
JCB has announced the release of a new line of generators. Consisting of three new models, the StageIIIA generators are built from six-cylinder engines, OEM’d from Dieselmax. The powerful 7.2-litre six-cylinder engines offer better efficiency & better performance than anything we’ve seen before in this size format. The GS166QS, G201QS and G221QS come in outputs of 150kVA, 180kVA, and 200kVA prime at 50Hz.
What is a Stage IIIA Generator?
Stage IIIA is the highest certification that power producing units can be given, making them ideal for those that need to are looking for a more efficient generator. IIIA generators are the perfect choice for those that are looking for a generator that produces lower emissions, better efficiency & better performance & reliability.
IIIA generators are also much quieter than other models. This makes them much more suited for work environments as they also produce fewer vibrations due to the smoother operation of the Dieselmax engines.
The three new generators released were all designed to meet certain dimensions, making them more compact in order to meet size requirements. This means that these generators are much easier to transport especially with towing.
The new JCB generators are designed with heavy steel canopy which is then dipped in phosphate and powder coated in the classic JCB yellow for the best corrosion resistance. They feature a 400-litre fuel tank that keeps them running for a staggering 12 hours at 75% load. The generators are also equipped with JCB LiveLink, allowing site managers to monitor the generators in order to keep an eye on fuel levels as well as machine condition.
